Rhuby produces large fruit that is great for eating, baking and for sweet cider. It is resistant to scab and fireblight. Ripens over several weeks and is the quintessential all-purpose apple. Only ever given a number from the Geneva breeding station, it has been colloquially named after the MacKentley's grand daughter, Ella Rhuby.
