Charlamoff Apple
$35.00
-50°F or colder. Unknown parentage; old Russian. Ripens in late August. Green/yellow, washed with red.
An old Russian variety. According to "The Apples of New York, Volume 2," it was most likely one of 250+ varieties brought from Russia to the US in the late 1800s. White flesh bleeds pink from the skin when ripe. Crisp, coarse, and juicy.
NOTE: This variety has been in the SLN catalog for decades, under the name "Carroll." Thanks to recent genetic testing (submitted by friend of the nursery, Kent Blatter), we now know its true identity, which is Charlamoff.
3-5 foot trees.
