A very unique pear, the breeding history of which is somewhat fuzzy. Shipova is known to be the product of an unusual cross: Sorbus aria X Pyrus communis. This sweet, buttery pear is somewhat small and resembles an Asian pear in shape. You may have to wait a few extra years for this delicious fruit; Shipova can be slow to bear.
