A plum originating from Manchuria; green-yellow skin sometimes blushing red with one-inch diameter fruit. Firm flesh, meaty, freestone; excellent for eating or preserves. Tree bushy, productive, and extremely hardy. Released from the Morden, Manitoba Research Station in 1939. The Ptitsin series also includes #3, 5, 7, 9, 10 and 12.
