Redfield Apple
$35.00
-50°F. Wolf River X Malus niedzwetzkyana. Ripens in mid-late September. Deep red.
Deep pink blossoms in the Spring give way to beautiful, delicious fruit in the fall. A large red fleshed apple; almost purple, often with some russeting. Flesh is deep red under the skin, fading to pink near the core. Good for fresh eating. On the tart side; also makes excellent (and showy!) pies and sauce- a favorite of cidermakers as well. Resistant to scab; somewhat tolerant of fireblight.
3-5 foot trees.
